The Bent Fork - Pear Rosemary

Friday Cocktail Hour! Since it’s Friday night, it’s definitely time to try out a new cocktail recipe with a new a twist. I found this recipe today and am trying it tonight… and am very hopeful about my first test trial. I was so excited when I spotted this recipe… Pear Rosemary Cocktail. Yes, you read it right. The recipe is meant to be made two weeks in advance… but I think the wait will be worth it.

Ingredients
  • 6 to 10 pears (Make sure to use super ripe pears! They have the best flavor!)
  • 1 cup fine sugar
  • 4 cups premium vodka
  • 6 sprigs fresh rosemary plus more for garnish
  • 1 1/2 cups pear nectar
  • 4 cups sparkling water
  • 1 lemon sliced (for garnish)
Directions
  1. Put enough pears into a large glass jar to fill. Add vodka. Seal jar, and let stand at room temperature 2 weeks (Guess I won’t be enjoy this cocktail til next week).
  2. Heat sugar and 1 cup water in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring until sugar has dissolved. Add rosemary; remove from heat. Let stand 30 minutes. Discard rosemary. Let cool completely. Syrup can be refrigerated in an airtight container up to 1 month.
  3. Fill 12-ounce glasses halfway with ice. Add 4 tablespoons vodka, 2 tablespoons syrup, and 3 tablespoons pear nectar to each. Top with 1/2 cup sparkling water. Serve garnished with rosemary sprigs and lemon slices!

Thank you Sarah Bareilles for the mixing music!
