Number one rule of the perfect Sangria - let sit overnight before serving! The flavors of the orange, lemon, wine, and brandy really shine once they have had 24 hours together in your fridge. I also like to set aside a few lemon and orange slices to put in right before the party or event I’m hosting - as well as add some additional club soda to keep it light and fresh.
Ingredients
4 oranges
1/4 cup brandy
1/3 cup sugar
1 bottle red wine
2 lemons
2 1/2 cups club soda
Directions
Thinly slice 2 lemons and 2 oranges, and set aside.
Juice remaining 2 oranges and add to a large pitcher with sugar and brandy. Stir.
Add wine and several of the lemon and orange slices. (Set aside a few lemon and orange slices to add to Sangria mix the day of your event). Stir.
Add 1 1/2 cups of club soda. (The remaining cup of club soda will be added to Sangria mix the day of your event, along with extra lemon and orange slices). Stir.
Let sit in refrigerator overnight.
Next day, add remaining lemon and orange slices, and 1 cup of club soda.
